The last three years have seen a global spotlight placed on equality, diversity and inclusion (EDI), leading to numerous promises made across the tech sector that organisations would evaluate their hiring practices and advance their EDI initiatives.
Now, in 2024, this progress is at stake.
EDI has slipped down the priority list of many CEOs and founders. Declarations that “EDI must die”, alongside budget cuts to EDI programmes, fit within a loud and damaging narrative that EDI is a fad which companies can pick up and put down when it’s convenient.
So, how is our latest report changing the narrative?
We analysed the UK’s 44 unicorn businesses to find out how their consideration of EDI has impacted their company’s journey to £1 billion. We also spoke to senior leaders at some of the unicorns who are making positive strides with their EDI initiatives, including Multiverse, Skyscanner, SumUp and Wise.
Compiled into 22 pages of insights, the learnings from these leading unicorns serve as a practical guide for all founders and business executives – signposting the smartest actions to take as you scale, and how you can get there even faster with positive EDI practices.
The report can – and should – be widely shared to help founders and exec teams build a picture of how and why EDI strategy needs to be implemented as early as possible in any business journey.
